Our Story

Pets4Life Louisville is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that every pet – and their family – has access to quality, preventative pet care. Building on the trusted model of the Humane Society’s Pets for Life initiative, we focus on pet retention by offering a wide range of wellness resources and support. Our work is rooted in community and mutual aid, reflecting our commitment to keeping pets and their people together.

We proudly serve neighborhoods where veterinary resources are scarce, operating primarily in 10 underserved Louisville zip codes and expanding into additional areas through Greater Metro Louisville. From our pop-up vet clinics and mobile pet care hubs to our virtual PetCare Hub Navigator, we strive to meet pet families wherever they are.

Continue pop-up clinics and outreach in Portland, Chickasaw, Parkhill, and California neighborhoods
Provide FREE microchips in various communities where needed
Grow our Petcare Hub Navigator and digital tools
Deepen partnerships and amplify impact
Support over 1,000 pets and their families

Pets4Life is honored to be selected for the prestigious PetSmart Charities Accelerator Grant, designed to help nonprofit clinics like ours expand and sustain affordable veterinary care for pets in need. This multi-year grant supports business planning and implementation to ensure long-term stability of low-cost veterinary services. With this incredible opportunity, we’re excited to grow our capacity, enhance our operations, and continue providing compassionate, accessible care to more Louisville pets and families.

When Joye found herself caring for two adult dogs and a surprise litter of eight puppies in a crowded home, she was overwhelmed and facing animal control citations. With support from the PetSmart Charities Access to Care Grant, Pets4Life Louisville provided vaccines, facilitated rescue placement for several puppies, arranged spay/neuter services, and worked with local authorities to find safe, long-term solutions—helping Joye regain stability and ensure a healthier future for her pets.
